Test, Test, Then Test Again

Client Q:  So . . . why is testing so important again?
A:  It’s a great way to flawlessly maximize your sales online with Social Media.
Client Q:  But, I don’t have time to do that, plus everything else I need to do!
A:  It’s important to find a way to make time.

It’s an age-old answer, but it’s true.
The reality is: If you’re not testing different ways to engage, then you’re just assuming you know what your audience wants.

KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE SO YOU CAN SELL TO THEM.

There’s no ONE way to do Social Media, mainly because not every audience will respond to what YOU think they want.  This is the mistake I see most businesses make.  Most plan their posts around what they think will be interesting to their audience, without even looking at the back analytics to see when the most visitors came to the page, or just simply the day/time a person “liked” something.

Hmmmm.

I used to work at a .com years ago where I was responsible for the testing to be done on a client’s page.  In essence, I was a Consultant already in my own right – working with the Account Managers to plan what we would test that would increase conversion on pages (which in our case – translated to sales).  What I remembered most from those years is that not all clients had the same results.  & results are always king.

KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE SO YOU CAN SELL TO THEM.

How?

* In Facebook, check the “Insights” page at least 1x a week.
* Use Klout or Tweetreach for Twitter.
* If you use YouTube a lot, check out your YouTube Insights (& you can see stats for your competitors too if they haven’t disabled this feature)!
* On LinkedIn? (You’d better be!) Take a look at “Who’s Viewed Me” on your Home Page.
*Blogging with WordPress means you can take a closer look at that Dashboard & what it’s telling you.
