5 Major Social Media Mavens!

March 2, 2011

I am writing this post especially because it is women’s history month!

If you want to know about social networking from a woman’s point of view, check these ladies out (on Twitter & FaceBook of course!) . . . they really know their stuff!

Mari Smith @MariSmith – This woman is very enthusiastic & has over 34K people that have become a fan of hers on FaceBook & 94,000 Twitter followers! She definitely “walks the talk” as a social media practitioner. In fact, I watched one of Mari’s webinars on the new FaceBook in February & was totally impressed by her presentation — in addition to her insights.

B.L. Ochman @whatsnext – B.L. gives you the “low down” as you would expect from a person actually born in NYC, which makes her blog & tweets both interesting & sassy. B.L. works with Proof Digital Media (which is a division of Burson-Marsteller) as Managing Director of Emerging Media. She’s been the leader of some of the earliest social media consulting projects.

Beth Kanter @Kanter – Beth energizes social media in the non profit space. She has the longest running blog for non- profits, is the CEO of Zoetica and co-author of the book, “The Networked Nonprofit.” In 2009, Beth was named by Fast Company Magazine as one of the most influential women in technology & one of Business Week’s “Voices of Innovation for Social Media.”

Deirdre Breakenridge @dbreakenridge – A four time published author of several important books on PR and social media including her most recent, “Putting the Public Back in Public Relations,” Deirdre knows her stuff!  She runs a successful agency & is an adjunct professor for Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey, teaching courses on Public Relations and Interactive Marketing.

Toby Bloomberg @TobyDiva – Toby is the original social media diva (love that title!) & a long time business blogging evangelist for companies since 2004. Her blog “Diva Marketing,” launched in 2004, was acknowledged by Forbes as one of the 20 Best Marketing & Social Media Blogs By Women. She consults with companies on strategic marketing plans that incorporate the best of both worlds — social and traditional media.

    Hi Rose –
Thanks for the mention and the honor of being in such great company as we celebrate amazing women!

This may not be the best blogger etiquette, but I’m so excited about this venture. If you liked Diva Marketing please check out .. .. a social content destination for women 40+ .. it’s “girlfriend talk” among real women. Would love your feedback on the concept.
