Top 5 Social Media Blogs to View & Share

June 25, 2010

Since this is my personal blog, I thought it would be appropriate to let you know what I think the top 5 Social Networking blogs are out there in cyberspace.  These sites not only provide quality content, but the authors post frequently on topics that leave you with a great “technology-tingly” feeling.

As many of you know, I am a very busy lady (plus camping season has started in Jackson Hole)!  Therefore, I can only read so many blogs . . . but they have to be good!  If you’d like to read up more about Social Media & how it can work for your business, check out these sites & see if you’d like to follow any.

& remember, these are MY personal opinions  😉

This site is by far the very best in Social Media.  They tout themselves as 1 of the top 10 blogs worldwide, & it’s a place where those looking to make sense of the online realm go for info.  What will you find here?  Step-by-step guides to using popular websites, reviews of mobile applications, breaking news about what’s happening on the web, the best viral videos, tips for marketing your businesses online & much more!  On Twitter, they are @mashable.

I love the way this woman writes – very down to earth.  B.L. Ochman is the Managing Director of Emerging Media for Proof Integrated Communications (which is the digital marketing arm of Burson-Marsteller), & she helps Fortune 500 companies strategically incorporate new media into their marketing mix.  She contributes to Ad Age Digital Next, Mashable, Business Week & others.  On Twitter, she is @whatsnext.

This guy has it going on!  Chris Brogan is President of New Marketing Labs, a new media marketing agency.  He works with large & mid-sized companies to improve online business communications like marketing & PR through the use of social software, community platforms & other emerging web and mobile technologies.  Rock on Chris!  He can be found on Twitter @chrisbrogan.

Based out of London, Econsultancy has become 1 of the most widely read digital marketing blogs.  This blog has quite a few contributors, & they are all extremely knowledgeable in this area – offering the latest reports & tips to make more of your online presence. Twitter = @Econsultancy.

This site works a bit differently, so I gave the link to the actual marketing hubs you can choose from (there are ones for overall social media & specialized ones for FaceBook to name a few).  Once you click your “hub,” you will then be connected with the blog entries you can select to read.  They also have webinars, ebooks & even some fun cartoons to share!  Overall, Hubspot was created to let businesses know how the internet is transforming small business.  That, & of course trying to suck you into buying their software . . . which may not be a bad idea.  I’ll be writing more on that very topic shortly.  Find HubSpot on Twitter: @hubspot
