Fear Factor: Social Media Strategy

Why do many clients fear adopting a social media strategy?
Maybe it’s the word “strategy” that makes people uncomfortable . . .

It may feel overwhelming at first, but when you break S-T-R-A-T-E-G-Y down into manageable pieces – it’s actually fun (or at least for me as a consultant)!  Here are a few things to reflect on when it comes to incorporating social networking into your business marketing strategy:

* See what your competitors are doing
This usually sparks your attention & spurs you immediately into action!

* Get clear on your goals
Do you want to brand, educate, or drive sales?

* Select your sites
There are quite a few social media platforms to pick from these days . . .
which fit your business needs?

*Put it in writing
Lay out a 3 month plan for everything you want to say & do (on which days)
& stick to the schedule.

Don’t let your fear of social media freeze you in your tracks!
Remember it’s a long-term strategy, so start slow by creating a plan & giving it 3 months
to grow on you 🙂
